Questions

Find answers to common concerns about our commercial IT services.

What is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and how can it benefit my business?

MSP takes care of your IT infrastructure and support on your behalf, typically for a fixed monthly fee. Rather than hiring in-house IT staff or reacting to problems as they arise, you get proactive monitoring, maintenance, and helpdesk support, meaning fewer outages, greater security, and a predictable IT budget. For SMBs, this is often a far more cost-effective solution than building an internal team.

What does your managed service package include?

Our packages typically include remote monitoring of your systems, proactive patching and updates, helpdesk support during business hours, cybersecurity tools (antivirus, email filtering, MFA), cloud backup, and regular reporting. We tailor every package to your business size and needs, click here to contact us and arrange a bespoke quote.

How quickly will you respond if something goes wrong?

Response times depend on the severity of the issue. Critical issues affecting your entire business - such as a server outage or network failure, are treated as Priority 1 and targeted with an initial response within 1 hour. Less critical issues have a 4-hour response target. All response times are set out clearly in your Service Level Agreement (SLA) so there are no surprises.

Do you support Microsoft 365 and cloud services?

Yes Microsoft 365 is at the heart of most of the businesses we support. We can manage licensing, user onboarding and offboarding, Teams and SharePoint configuration, email security, and much more. We're also experienced with Azure, Google Workspace, and a wide range of cloud platforms.

How do you keep our business data safe from cyber threats?

Cybersecurity is built into everything we do. We deploy enterprise-grade endpoint protection, email filtering to block phishing and malware, multi-factor authentication, and DNS-level threat protection. We also carry out regular vulnerability assessments and can provide staff awareness training - because people are often the biggest risk factor.

Can you help with compliance requirements such as Cyber Essentials or GDPR?

Absolutely. We can guide you through the Cyber Essentials certification process and help ensure your IT systems meet the required controls. We also advise on GDPR-relevant technical measures, such as data encryption, access controls, and breach detection. We're not a legal firm, so for detailed legal GDPR advice we'd always recommend consulting a specialist — but we'll take care of the technical side.

What happens when a staff member joins or leaves our company?

We handle the full onboarding and offboarding process. For new starters, we can provision devices, set up user accounts, configure email and software licences, and apply the correct access permissions. For leavers, we can immediately revoke access, retrieve company data, and reallocate licences — reducing both security risk and unnecessary spending.

Do you offer backup and disaster recovery solutions?

Yes. We implement automated, encrypted backups stored securely in the cloud, with retention policies tailored to your needs. We also help you build a disaster recovery plan so that in the event of a ransomware attack, hardware failure, or accidental data loss, your business can be back up and running as quickly as possible.

Can we keep our existing hardware and software, or do we need to change everything?

In most cases we work with what you already have. During onboarding we'll carry out an audit of your current environment and flag anything that's end-of-life, unsupported, or posing a security risk. We'll then agree a realistic roadmap with you, there's no pressure to replace everything at once.

How much does a managed IT support contract cost?

Pricing is based on the number of users and devices, the services included, and your required support hours. We offer transparent, per-user monthly pricing so there are no hidden costs. Most SMB clients find managed IT more cost-effective than break-fix support once you factor in lost productivity and emergency call-out fees.
